Our Process
Of the elite Deephaven custom home builders, we follow a process that makes each step easy but exciting. We engage you every step of the way to ensure everyone is on the same page and that your dream home is achieved. Norton Homes’ process is tried and tested, resulting in beautiful, unique homes across the Twin Cities metro. Here are the steps we follow:
1 — Consultation
Do you have your lot selected and/or purchased already? Great! We can meet up and discuss what types of architectural preferences you have for your dream home. If you don’t have a lot selected yet, that’s fine, too! We can assist in finding you the perfect spot for your home.
2 — Meet with the Architect
Come prepared with all your dream home wants and needs for this step, where you’ll meet our architect. To achieve luxurious craftsmanship and ultimate functionality, we’ll consider all the ways to accommodate your family and lifestyle. In approximately 2-3 weeks, our architect will deliver a final sketch.
3 — Your Blueprint
This is where our expertise compares to other Deephaven home builders as we’ll get into the nitty-gritty details of your home’s design. Developing a blueprint will give you a look at exactly what your home will look like and can inform cost estimates. You’ll also arrange financing during this step — upon approval, we’ll create a purchase agreement and collect part of the required deposit.
4 — Design and Build Phase
After you’ve purchased a lot and have put down a deposit, we can begin construction. During this phase, you’ll also meet with a designer to make aesthetic choices that will really make your house feel like home.
5 — Delivery
The usual timeline Our usually are clear to deliver homes nine months after permits are submitted. Together, we’ll walk through your home to ensure every detail exceeds your expectations. Even after delivery, we’ll be here to adjust anything as your home settles into place after construction.
