Our Process
To engage our clients in the home-build process, we follow a simple guideline. The steps included in our process are the following:
1 — Consultation
To start, we help you determine the best location for your new home in Shorewood if you have yet to purchase a lot. We then help you determine the preferences you have for your home, setting the groundwork for design choices.
2 — Meet with the Architect
This is where you get to dream big. We’ll discuss all of your wants and needs that should be included in the new home so we can design a space that makes you happy and works functionally in all the ways you need. Our architect will provide the final sketch in approximately 2 weeks.
3 — Your Blueprint
When the architect is done, you’ll get to sit down with us to go over the blueprint where we’ll nail down the nitty-gritty details of your design. The blueprint will give you a clear idea of exactly what your custom home will look like and help generate the cost estimate. This is the step where you’ll arrange financing for your home. Once approved, we’ll create the purchase agreement contract and collect a portion of the required deposit.
4 — Design and Build Phase
Once your lot has been secured and the deposit paid, the construction will begin. While we’re working on construction, you’ll meet with a Norton Homes interior designer to make all the final aesthetic and detail decisions.
5 — Delivery
Approximately nine months after permits are submitted, Norton Homes will deliver your new custom home. We’ll do a walkthrough together to ensure all details meet your expectations. Additionally, we’re here to adjust anything that may arise as your home settles after construction.
